Audiovisual Engineer




CommunicateUK are looking for an enthusiastic, Audio-visual Technician with at least 3 years of experience with specialisation in AV integration and maintenance.

You will represent our company and deliver high-quality AV/IT projects by being able to set up, configure and troubleshoot multiple Audio-Visual systems and products. You will work closely with other service areas i.e., electronics, security and CCTV to ensure the company processes are in place.


Required skills:

  • Possess a good underpinning technical knowledge of Electronics and Audio-Visual Systems, such as Lutron, Elan and Araknis.
  • Be able to set up, commission, diagnose the faults and troubleshoot a variety of AV equipment & IT hardware and software.
  • Good knowledge of video conferencing, audio, video, presentation, control solutions integration and IT
  • Be able to work from schematics, terminating sheets, site plans, and drawings
  • Be organised, flexible, and able to approach different types of tasks during the working day
  • Have the ability to liaise with the client or main contractor and to work with the rest of the team to deliver high-quality projects
  • Have a flexible approach to project changes on site
  • Be able to think laterally and suggest engineering solutions on-site
  • Be able to audit the installation from the beginning to completion
  • Be willing to work in London, the home counties and occasionally on customer sites in other parts of the UK and Europe
  • Be willing to attend training courses in new equipment and solutions
  • Knowledge of terminating audio, video, CAT5/6 cabling


Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of Customer Service throughout the project i.e., from onsite attendance to complete installation as well as during remote technical support
  • Works installations, integration including handover to Client
  • Field service engineering work as required
  • Ensure fault resolution is to Client satisfaction
  • Traveling to Client sites (including European travel if required)
  • Site and event coordination and support
  • Preventative Maintenance calls as required
  • Rotation of client sites as required
  • Site surveys

We have an exciting opportunity for an Intruder/Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer to join our busy Maintenance Department.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our busy maintenance department for a Service/Maintenance Engineer to work with our customers across Essex servicing and maintaining their Intruder and Fire Alarm Systems. 

You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate successfully to people in all levels.  As a problem solver you will be expected to service; fault find and carry out small repairs on a range of different systems - both large commercial fire and Intruder alarm systems and domestic intruder alarms.  This will be a challenging opportunity for a skilled engineer who has a professional and reliable outlook and can do attitude and able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.  You will be rewarded with a branded Company Van, Laptop and Mobile Phone.  Salary will be dependant on your previous experience and we would like to see engineers with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.

This is a fantastic opportunity, full time hours Monday to Friday 8 am until 5pm with the opportunity to earn overtime.  Your Van and Fuel Card will be supplied on your start date.

You will need:

* Full CLEAN UK Full Driving License

* Previous experience (minimum 2 years)

Communicate UK are a Fire and Security systems installation and maintenance company based in South Woodham Ferrers which is a family run business and running for over 28 years. We are looking to expand our Service and Maintenance department by recruiting a Maintenance Administrator to join our team. Job Role:

  • Support the Service Manager with service planning and management of work in progress.
  • Monthly KPI on maintenance figures assuring these are being met.
  • Maintain customer job files, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately recorded.
  • Communicate with Customers, Engineers and the service department to book in maintenance visits.
  • Taking incoming calls from Customers, Engineers and other internal departments to assist the service department.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Possess previous administration or customer service experience, ideally from a service / engineering background.
  • Have exceptional customer service skills.
  • Be experienced in working with customer disputes.
  • Have a high level of IT literacy, especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Be proactive and have the ability to pick new things up quickly.
